  1. Recognize the value of both scholarly and popular media for their research.
  2. Strategize how to come up with keywords for their research.
  3. Learn to consider and select appropriate databases for their research topic.

Read the 4 resources below before your FYSE's library visit. Please, be prepared to discuss the reflection questions posted under the articles.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Do you trust any of these sources more than the others? Why?
  2. How would you use each article in a paper?
  3. Which one did a scholar/expert write?

Types of Search Tools

In groups of 3, search for "failure." One person should search in Google, one in Google Scholar, and one person should search LibrarySearch.
