Friends of the Blough-Weis Library: Board and Bylaws

Ryan Ake: is the Assistant Library Director at Blough-Weis Library, and oversees the library’s collection development and outreach efforts. He has a strong interest in making sure the library can provide high-quality services, resources, and spaces for the entire campus community.  

Meg Dresser '02: Meg is a director in Susquehanna's Advancement office. As an avid reader and researcher, she has an interest in helping the library engage with friends and expand its base of supporters.   

Carol Sensenig ’72 Klein: Carol’s first work-study job was as a student assistant in the library, working at the circulation desk. After graduating from Susquehanna, Carol founded the Writing Center and maintained her connection to SU by serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Morgan MacVaugh ’19: Morgan serves as the Administrative and Public Services Assistant at the Blough-Weis Library. Her responsibilities include contacting alumni, organizing mailings and meetings, and planning the details of Friends’ events. 

Sarah Myers '12: Sarah has fond memories of using a rolling suitcase to return her many library books to the BWL as a history-secondary education student. She is currently Public Services Librarian and Institutional Repository Manager at Messiah University.  Sarah values the many ways the Blough-Weis Library supports student success and engagement through their spaces, collections, events, outreach, and personal connections. 

Rob Sieczkiewicz:  As director of the library and associate professor, Rob ensures that the library remains at the center of the academic experience of Susquehanna students. He believes that every member of our community should find the library a welcoming place where they can study and get research help, as well as access the books and electronic resources they need to develop as scholars and learners.

Craig Stark: Craig is an associate professor in the Department of Communications. Craig served on the Faculty Library Committee where he learned about how the library worked and the services that it offers. Craig has an interest in impacting the library through his involvement with the group and hopes to use the newly formed friends group to connect it to other offices on campus.

BYLAWS May 2018

Article I – Name

The name of the association shall be “Friends of the Blough-Weis Library” of Susquehanna University (hereinafter called the “Friends”).

Article II – Mission Statement

The purpose of the Friends shall be to support the interests and academic endeavors of the Blough-Weis Library and thereby Susquehanna University. The Blough-Weis Library enhances the university experience in many ways, including: - Providing both learners and educators with up-to-date materials, services, and technology. - Creating programs and events that inform and educate Susquehanna University and the surrounding Selinsgrove community. - Attracting and enabling resources beyond the library’s budget in order to support the advancement of the library resources and facilities. - Providing opportunities for members of the Susquehanna community to Achieve, Lead, and Serve through various initiatives.
